Apurv writes down why Indian journalism schools don’t produce professional journalists. One reason is that, with a few notable exceptions, most of these institutions are floated by media organisations with the explicit intention of creating future employees. Secondly, as Apurv points out, not much of journalism training is actually about the shape of media. Young people in media organisations right now are pretty much clueless about the future of their channels and newspapers. Perhaps it is time serious debates regarding the nature and changing face of media started.
